Merry Christmas!

ionahowell

This year’s Christmas party gave us all an opportunity to reminisce over 2024 and everything we have achieved as a practice together over the past year. We had a fantastic time at Rebel restaurant and their sister bar Ro. The food, wine (and later cocktails) were greatly enjoyed by all, and everyone’s competitive nature came out with a few Christmas games…

At Mosedale Gillatt, we are a close team whose dedication to the practice and the delivery of projects for our clients is central to everything we do. Highlights of 2024 include the completion of our project at Elephant Tea Rooms (and it’s subsequent commendation at the Brick Awards), planning permission received for our Passive House Education scheme at Temple Newsam in Leeds, the continued work at Redhills Durham Miners Hall (due for completion in early 2025), a successful NLHF bid and our next phase of design involvement for new premises for Bailiffgate Museum at Northumberland Hall in Alnwick and Washington F Pit Museum starting up again as funding was confirmed.

An exciting development for us has been our transition to an Employee Ownership Trust in the Autumn, reflecting the values of engagement and sense of shared ownership that have been key to business success over the years. The process has been driven by a desire to recognise the loyalty and low staff turnover our practice has always enjoyed and recognises the positive contribution that every member of our team makes. We have developed a company we believe will continue to put purpose and people first, maximising staff engagement and productivity to the benefit of all.

It’s not something we’ve shouted about but importantly to our clients, contractors and fellow consultants, it is very much business as usual, dealing with the same individuals and teams as before. If you’ve been working with us lately, we are sure you’ve experienced that!

Our best wishes to everyone for the festive break, thank you to everyone we’ve worked with this year. Merry Christmas to all and see you in 2025!
